Bereavement
"Life lives, life dies, Life laughs, Life cries. Life gives up and life tries. But life looks different through everyone's eyes."

When an Area Community Hospice patient dies, support for their loved ones continues.
The bereaved will receive a call from a bereavement counselor to set up an appointment. At the appointment, the bereaved will be given a single rose. This rose is from the staff of Area Community Hospice in appreciation of Sharing the journey of your loved one with our staff.
The counselor will see how they are doing, ensure that they know about the services offered and arrange for a visit or further follow up phone contact if needed. During the next 13 months, the bereaved receives a specialized mailing which touches upon a different topic related to the grieving process.
Annually, our bereaved are invited to a Butterfly Release Memorial Service. The service gathers all the families of the patient's we have had the honor of being a part of thier journey.
This memorial gives families a chance to honor their relationships with their loved ones and celebrate their lives.
After the service each family member is given a Monarch butterfly to release in honor of their loved one.
Throughout the 13 month period, Area Community Hospice bereaved the Schedule of Groups, Workshops and Events which gives information about the extensive bereavement services offered.
